Katherine Hennig Osgoode Hall Law School, Juris Doctor - 2009 University of Alberta, Bachelor of Arts (Criminology) with Distinction - 2006 Katherine's practice is focused on criminal defence. Her interest in criminal law started a number of years ago, beginning with volunteer experience with the Devon RCMP and the Leduc Extra-judicial Measures Committee. She then entered the criminolgy program at the University of Alberta, where she had field experience at Edmonton Institution for Women. Her decision to enter criminal defence practice was influenced by her work on the Innocence Project at Osgoode Hall Law School. The Innocence Project investigates and remedies wrongful convictions. From this experience, she realized that every accused person needs a vigourous and dilligent defence to prevent wrongful convictions and unjust sentences. Every client is a person who is worthy of being treated fairly no matter who they are or what they are accused of.
